10 UK Music Venues for Bands Touring in Sleeper Buses

Our sleeper buses are ideal for touring, and the UK is full of great cities, but what are the best venues? Let’s go through some of the best underrated venues to visit on tour if you’re a band travelling via sleeper bus

1. The 100 Club

Based in London, The 100 Club is a special venue for live music, having been playing live shows since 1942. Many of the earliest performers were actually soldiers.  It’s a venue with 350-capacity, which makes it great for intimate shows. Where better to play than the busiest city in the UK!?

2. Band on the Wall

Band on the Wall is based in Manchester. It’s classed as legendary by many of the locals and has hosted some of the best live music in the UK. The main floor now has a capacity of 500 and is one of the most well-respected venues in the city. 

3. Clwb Ifor Bach

As you probably guessed, this venue is based in Wales. More specifically, Cardiff. They host emerging artists and are at the epicentre of Cardiff’s music scene.  Some bands that have played in their earlier years are the likes of Declan Mckenna, Kasabian, Biffy Clyro and Coldplay. 

4. The Sunflower Lounge

This independent bar has become a venue for unsigned artists in Birmingham. It’s a popular spot for up-and-coming artists to play at during their first tours and has alternative décor as well as space for 120 people to stand. 

5. Leeds University Union

Leeds is a wonderful, musical city to travel to in a sleeper bus, and Leeds University Union has staged some of the most unforgettable bands such as Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley and The Killers. It’s non-profit meaning all money made will go towards the student’s time at Leeds University. 

6. King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut

You’d definitely need a sleeper bus to get to this one, the legendary venue is based in Glasgow. This venue has been the start of many great bands careers, including Oasis! Who we’re signed right in this very venue. It was named by Radio 1 as ‘Best UK live venue,’ despite its 300-capacity limit. 

7. Bungalows and Bears 

Bungalows and Bears in Sheffield is a bar that serves food and cocktails, accompanied by live music. They’ve hosted the likes of Yung Lean and Wolf Alice. Sheffield is the place to be for its music culture, hop on your tour bus and get down there!

8. The Cluny 

The Cluny is located in Newcastle and is a focal point of Newcastle’s independent music scene. It’s also a café and pub – with a 300-person capacity for live music viewers. Whilst an intimate venue, they’ve had artists such as Arctic Monkey’s, Duffy and Mumford & Sons play there! 

9. Rescue Rooms 

Rescue Rooms in Nottingham has hosted renowned artists such as Calvin Harris, The Killers, Ellie Goulding and Stormzy. It has a bar and patio and features as a nightclub on weekends. The 450-capactiy venue has 2 secluded smoking terraces and is legendary in Notts. 

10. Adelphi Club

We couldn’t do an article about venues in the UK to travel to by Sleeper bus and not mention a club close to home. The Adelphi Club is based in Hull and is an intimate venue for up-and-coming artists. Iconic bands such as The Housemartins and Pulp performed here in their earlier days. It’s a lovely venue in our hometown!
